Many of the things I write about I know first-hand and discouragement is definitely one of them. I am going to be honest, I know that one reason I am in my 50’s and haven’t found success yet is because, in the past, I allowed discouragement to deter me from my dream. I let the difficulty of the process and what other people said become my complacent reality. I am going thorough a process right now that feels like I am spinning my wheels and to add to “the going no where feeling”, I had a person recently tell me that what I am trying to achieve is going to be very difficult. I will admit I felt discouragement creeping in. I lost some momentum because I allowed myself to start believing the words of a stranger.
As I said in my last blog, this is when “surrounding yourself with love” makes such a difference. My husband looked at me and said, ” If it wasn’t hard, everyone would be doing it. ” His words of support along with my own belief that God is greater than any closed door gave me COURAGE to go on.
So I am asking you, is there a dream that you are chasing and chasing and it seems to be getting farther away? Just know you are not alone. Many people start the journey toward a goal, a dream, or the process of starting over, but only a few reach their destination. Take one step at a time. Keep moving. Be a journeyer of perseverance! You never know what can be right around the corner.
If you would like to share a story of a time you persevered to a goal, I would like to hear about it.
